Once You're Here
We’re excited to share a few of our favorite places in the Texas Hill Country with you...
Enchanted Rock -
Near Fredericksburg
It's a Hill Country rite of passage - Enchanted Rock is in itself magnificent, and its surrounding areas are also beautiful. It is about 1 hour from Camp Tecaboca and 20 minutes from Fredericksburg, and a hike will take about an hour depending on your pace.
Louise Hays Park - Kerrville
Louise Hays is a newly renovated park that features some fantastic water park type amenities right on the Guadalupe River. It's a beautiful area to walk as well as enjoy with kiddos.
Old Tunnel State Park - Near Fredericksburg
Watching a colony of Mexican free-tailed bats emerge is quite an experience. During emergence, the bats spiral upwards in a counter-clockwise direction to gain altitude. Aerial predators, such as red-tailed hawks, sometimes catch bats as they emerge. Terrestrial predators, such as raccoons, feed on fallen bats.
Thai Ocha (top)/
Pint & Plow Brewing Co. (bottom) - Kerrville
Thai Ocha is a great little Thai restaurant with a fantastic terrace patio right on the Guadalupe River. Pint & Plow is a fun hangout spot with excellent beer, pizza, and appetizers. Can't go wrong with either of these restaurants that we personally recommend.
